Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients in the age group 18 to 60 years Patients of American Society of Anaesthesiologists Physical Status grade I or II
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with history of allergy to study drugs (etomidate, dexmedetomidine, butorphanol) 2. Patients with history of diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular, respiratory or neurologic disease, psychiatric disorders, impaired renal and hepatic function. 3. Patients with adrenocortical dysfunction 4. Patients with morbid obesity 5. Patients who received sedatives, analgesics or opioids within the previous 24 hours 6. Patients with hiatal hernia and symptomatic gastroesophageal reflex. 7. Patients having problems in communication 8. Patients who are pregnant or lactating. 9. Patients with anticipated difficult airway or difficult venous access or disorders of lipid metabolism
