Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients (age more than or equal to 18 years) presenting to the ED and requiring rapid sequence intubation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with known carotid artery pathology (e.g., carotid artery stenosis more than 50 percentage, dissection) 2.Patients with blunt/penetrating neck injury 3. Patients in hypotension requiring hemodynamic resuscitation (SBP less than 90 mmHg / MAP less than 65 mmHg) 4. Non-sinus cardiac rhythm 5. Pregnancy 6. Intracardiac shunts 7. Short neck or other anatomical variants precluding procurement of optimal view
