Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Residing within a 20 km radius of PGIMER, Chandigarh Diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus The period of diagnosis will be either equal to or more than 1 year and equal to or less than 7 years HbA1c levels more than or equal to 6.5 Literate up to primary school, Able to speak and read Hindi/Punjabi/English Owns a smartphone with access to the internet Gives consent to participate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participation in any other lifestyle intervention program during the study period Type 1 Diabetes diagnosed by the physician Pregnant/ lactating women or planning for pregnancy during the study period Presence of major physical, cognitive, or psychiatric impairment. Severe complications or comorbidities (End-stage chronic kidney failure, chronic liver disease) History of unstable angina pectoris or stroke within the past six months

Mean change in HbA1c, Mean change in the score of Morisky Medication Adherence Scale 8 for assessing medication adherence Timepoint: Baseline, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months Baseline, at six months and at the end of twelve months.

Mean weight change, mean change in waist-to-hip ratio, mean change in fasting blood glucose levels, mean change in lipid levels, mean change in the level of distress related to diabetes, mean change in self-efficacy, reported mean score for user ratings, proportion of participants who had changes in medication dosages, proportion of participants developing any diabetes related complications based on the records Timepoint: Baseline, at six months and at the end of twelve months.
