Health Condition 1: E116- Type 2 diabetes mellitus with other specified complications

Interventions

Control Intervention1: Metformin and other antihyperglycemic medications.: Metformin 500/1000 mg OD BD for the duration of 1-5 Years, 5-10 Years and more than 10 years.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients of either gender between age group years. 2.HbA1c More than 6.5 percent. 3.Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients taking Metformin-based glucose-lowering therapy may be as monotherapy or in combination with other GLT. 4.Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients Not on metformin therapy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with known vitamin B12 deficiency before the study. 2.Patients on vitamin B12 supplements. 3.Patients with other conditions affecting vitamin B12 levels example pernicious anaemia gastrointestinal surgeries 4.Known case of Ulcerative Colitis or Crohns disease. 5.Known case of Peripheral neuropathy Prolonged use of PPI for more than 1 year. 6.Alcoholics
