Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with signs and symptoms of Kapha Nanatmaja Vikara. 2.Patients with signs and symptoms of Primary Hypothyroidism. 3.Patients who are eligible for either Vamana-Virechana or Vamana-Nasya-Vasti procedures.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients below the age of 18 and above the age of 60 years. 2.Patients with Uncontrolled Diabetes and Hypertension. 3.Patients with TB,HIV,Cancer and or major systematic diseases. 4.Patients who are not eligible for Vamana-Virechana and Vamana-Nasya-Vasti. 5.Patients who are not willing to give the consent.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. Reduction in serum TSH levels from baseline to post-treatment. 2. Improvement in clinical features of hypothyroidism using Billewicz scoring index.Timepoint: Day 30 after treatment completion.—

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Sustained improvement in serum TSH levels and Billewicz score after 60 days of treatment completion. Subjective improvement in quality of life and energy levels as reported by patients at follow-up.Timepoint: Day 60 after treatment completion.—
