Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Acute hypoxemic respiratory failure with PaO2/FiO2 less than 300 Age above 18 years Maintained respiratory effort and robust cough reflex

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant individuals Patients with facial trauma Those necessitating emergency intubation Individuals with decreased consciousness (Glasgow Coma Score less than 12) Severe respiratory acidosis or hypercapnia Patients with unstable hemodynamic status
