Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Preterm infants born between 25 to 30 6/7 weeks of gestation and admitted to NICU before 96 hours of life.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Those with lethal congenital malformations and antenatally detected anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract, neonates with ileostomies, colostomies, congenital heart disease, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Inherited renal tubular disorders, Hyponatremia attributed to non-tubular causes SIADH, NEC

MeasureTime frame
Diagnostic accuracy of fractional excretion of sodium at 2 weeks of life (12-15 days of life) for predicting the late-onset hyponatremia in preterm neonates born between 25-30 6/7 weeks of gestation.Timepoint: at 12-15 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The proportion of postnatal growth failure (defined as fall in z score from birth to discharge more than 0.8) between those who had late-onset hyponatremia of prematurity and those without hyponatremia.Timepoint: At discharge;The diagnostic accuracy of fractional excretion of sodium at 5-7 days & 19-23 days of life for predicting the late-onset hyponatremia in preterm neonates born between 25-30 6/7 weeks of gestation.Timepoint: 5-7 days, 19-23 days
