Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Children aged lesser than 71 months of age. 2 Diagnosed with ECC (case group) and clinically caries-free (control group). 3 Healthy children without systemic illnesses or conditions affecting saliva production. 4 Children whose parents will give informed consent for participation in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Children using antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs for the last 2 months. 2 History of salivary gland disorders or systemic diseases affecting oral health. 3 Presence of oral ulcers, mucosal lesions, or dental trauma. 4 Inability to cooperate during saliva collection
