Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Children aged 12-18 months of either gender and no longer exclusively breastfed Weight to length Z (WLZ) less than 2 SD and greater than or equal to 3 SD without bilateral pedal oedema. Parent(s) willing to study participation and aid in following study procedures. Agree to remain in the study area for the study duration.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Any ongoing fever or medical condition persisting for more than the last 14 days or requires hospitalization. Any congenital/acquired disorder affecting growth. Severe anaemia (less than 8mg/dl) will be assessed by Hemocue. Antibiotic use (within the last 15 days before the onset of intervention) Ongoing maternal antibiotic usage for breastfeeding infants. Receiving concurrent treatment for another condition.
