Interventions

Intervention1: NIL: NIL Intervention2: active tdcs arm: Active tDCS given to MDD patients. Control Intervention1: Sham tdcs arm: sham tdcs given to MDD patients.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All the patients were aged between 18-60 years. 2. Patients diagnosed with a current Major Depressive Episode according to DSM-5TR. 3. Patients giving written informed consent. 4. Drug free (for at least 6 weeks).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients having major depressive episodes with psychotic symptoms. 2. Patients with treatment resistant depression. 3. Patients having Bipolar disorder with current episode Depression. 4. Patients with substance use disorders except tobacco and nicotine. 5. Patient having suicidal ideations. 6. Chronic and disabling physical illnesses which need immediate attention(tuberculosis, congestive heart failure, chronic kidney disease, severe respiratory illness).
