Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients undergoing Hemithyroidectomy. 2.Age more than 18 years and less than 70 years. 3.Solitary thyroid nodule less than 5cm limited to single lobe. 4.Patients giving consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who received RAI ablation. 2. patients with lateral neck metastases 3. distant metastases 5. Preoperative vocal fold paralysis, 6. gross extrathyroidal extension 7. previous histories of cancer of another site, neck irradiation, or neck surgery. 8. Patients who are poor candidates for general anesthesia. 9. Features of thyroiditis, Nodules in TE groove.

MeasureTime frame
To audit and evaluate the experience with Robotic Remote Access Thyroidectomy at our Institution so as to assess case-mix, indications, adequacy of resection complications, quality of life, and patient satisfaction with the procedure. Timepoint: 2 years

MeasureTime frame
To identify and compare the rates and types of complications, medium term patient satisfaction, and quality of life associated with robotic thyroidectomy and open thyroidectomy.Timepoint: 2 years
