Intervention1: Vacuum Assisted Closure: Post amputation stump will be closed with VAC dressing and stump will be followed up every 4 weeks until complete healing
Control Intervention1: saline dressing

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adults above 18 years with severe lower limb trauma requiring primary amputation presenting to us within 48 hrs
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Age less than 18 years. Amputations which require flap reconstruction. Patients with a history of poor wound healing like Peripheral vascular disease.
