Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Term neonates with perinatal asphyxia with 1 minute APGAR score less than 5/10

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Septicemia 2. RH incompatibility 3. Chorioamnionitis 4. Intra uterine growth restriction 5. Mothers on medications that change blood profile 6. Newborns with severe congenital malformation 7. Chromosomal anomalies 8. Maternal diabetes mellitus 9. Multiple gestation
