Intervention1: Caval Sonography: Bedside ultrasonographic examination of Inferior Vena Cava will be performed in critically ill patients to measure IVC diameters and IVC collapsibility index for 5 min

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Critically ill patients in intensive care unit, Spontaneously breathing patients, patients with functioning Central venous catheter that had already been placed for clinical indications, patients giving informed valid and written consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients in whom CVC is contraindicated, patients with overt right heart failure or with moderate to severe tricuspid regurgitation, patients with clinical signs of elevated intra abdominal pressure, Patients for whom required ultrasound examination would not be appropriate , mechanically ventilated patients, patients who refused to participate in the study.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the correlation between inferior vena cava diameters, central venous pressure and IVC collapsibility index for estimating the volume status in critically ill patientsTimepoint: Ultrasound image acquisition recording will be done initially. After one minute central venous pressure will be measured

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To establish inferior vena cava diameter & IVC collapsibility index as a non invasive tool for the evaluation of intravascular fluid volume & to guide fluid management in critically ill patientsTimepoint: Baseline USG guided IVC diameter & IVC collapsibility index obtained. After 1 minute CVP will be measured & values will be correlated
