Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants with normal occlusion will have a Curve of Spee between 1.5 and 2 millimeters, an average growth pattern (Tweed), a freeway space of 2 to 4 millimeters, no crowding, and normal overjet and overbite. Participants with true deep bite will have a Curve of Spee greater than 4 millimeters, a horizontal growth pattern (Tweed), a freeway space greater than 4 millimeters, and mild to moderate crowding less than 4 millimeters. Participants with pseudo deep bite will have a Curve of Spee greater than 4 millimeters, a vertical to average growth pattern (Tweed), a freeway space less than 4 millimeters, and mild to moderate crowding less than 4 millimeters.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria for all groups will include individuals with Class III skeletal or dental relationships, lesions or root canal treatment involving the lower incisors, congenitally missing or extracted teeth, presence of deciduous dentition, history of ongoing or completed orthodontic treatment, severe crowding, and patients with severe skeletal asymmetry.
