Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing open spine surgeries 2. Patients who provide informed consent to participate in the study. 3. Patients without known allergies or contraindications to povidone iodine, and Gentamycin

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with a known history of hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to povidone iodine Gentamycin 2. Patients with an active infection at the surgical site prior to surgery. 3. Patients with systemic infections or immunocompromised conditions 4. Patients with a history of chronic wound infections or non-healing wounds 5. Smokers or diabetic patients 6. Patients above age of 60 years 7. Patients unable to comply with the study protocol or follow-up requirements
