Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients aged 18 to 80 years with septic shock patients giving written informed consent will be taken

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Known malignancy or neoplasm, history of recent surgery, hematologic disorders, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and patients with autoimmune diseases that could cause expression of high plasma VEGF-C levels. Patient expiring with in 48 hours of admition Patient with renal failure

MeasureTime frame
Levels of VEGF-C will be measured using ELISA in day 1 and day 3 blood samples of the patients and will be compared in accordance with Procalcitonin and C-reactive protein levels in the same samples.Timepoint: Day 1 and day 3 of ICU admission samples will be taken and patients will be followed up till discharge or mortality.
