Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The study included patients diagnosed with various pulpal conditions such as asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis, symptomatic irreversible pulpitis, and pulp necrosis with or without apical periodontitis. All selected teeth had fully matured roots and were located in the permanent posterior region, including premolars and molars of both the maxillary and mandibular arches. Additionally, the diabetic participants were identified based on glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels greater than 6.5%, and only those without any other systemic diseases or habits (such as smoking or alcohol use) were included to ensure uniformity in systemic health status.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The study excluded cases presenting with specific complicating factors to ensure standardization and accuracy of results. These exclusion criteria included teeth with curved root canals exceeding 25 , calcified canals, or complex root canal morphologies. Additionally, teeth showing periapical radiolucencies greater than 2 mm, presence of cellulitis or abscess, and patients reporting a pre-instrumentation pain score higher than 6 on the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) were also not included in the study.
