Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To assess the incidence of significant signal change or loss during intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring in children presenting for neurosurgical procedures for tethered cord syndromes and to describe the management strategies for these occurrences.Timepoint: Postoperative days 0, 24 hours and 7 days | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1. To estimate the percentage of significant intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) signal changes or losses during neurosurgical procedures for tethered cord syndromes. 2. To assess the management strategies of significant IONM signal change or losses during neurosurgical procedures for tethered cord syndrome. 3. To identify the factors associated with significant IONM signal changes or losses during intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring during neurosurgical procedures for tethered cord syndrome. 4. To describe the temporal evolution of the changed signal and correlate it with changes in surgical or anaesthetic strategies. 5. To describe the clinical outcomes in patients with significant change/loss of signal during intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring 6. To observe the incidence of complications associated with intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring. Timepoint: Postoperative days 0, 24 hours and 7 days | — |
