Intervention1: Psychological Intervention Therapy, Counselling: To assess the effectiveness of Psychological Intervention, students meeting inclusion criteria will be assigned to one of the two groups

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: English medium schools (State Syllabus) who agree to take part in the study. 14-16 years old school students. Students who give ascent and parents who give consent for the study. Students meeting indication of mild to severe for Problematic Internet Use on the Internet Addiction Test.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Parents and participants who do not consent or ascent for the study. Kannada, Marathi, Urdu medium schools. Students having other psychiatric disorders. Students with substance addictions.

MeasureTime frame
Primary Outcome the change in problematic internet usage, which will be measured using Young Internet Addiction Test (IAT) Timepoint: 5 weeks

Secondary

Secondary Outcomes/variable are the emotional symptoms, conduct problems, ADHD, peer problems and pro-social behaviour will be measured using Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) and Global Improvement Scale (CGI-I) Scale which will be also administered in the group after assigning students to two groupsTimepoint:
