Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age more than equals to 40 years Diagnosis of COPD confirmed by spirometry prior to admission Hospitalized with acute exacerbation of COPD Consent to participate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Coexistent severe sepsis/septic shock unrelated to COPD Known pulmonary embolism on admission Active malignancy End-stage organ failure like renal or liver or heart

Role of Composite Score comprising of APACHE II and CRP and D DIMER and PCO2 in predicting outcomes and in hospital mortality in patients admitted with acute exacerbation of COPDTimepoint: DURING ADMISSION AND UPTO 14 DAYS FROM ADMISSION OR UNTIL DISCHARGE OR DEATH , WHICHEVER IS EARLIER.
