Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients of age 2 years to 8 years of either sex. 2. Patients under American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) I/II.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient s guardian refusal for procedure. 2. Local skin infection at the site of block. 3. Patients with known comorbidities. 4. Patients on antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. 5. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) III/IV patients. 6. Hepatic, renal, or cardiopulmonary abnormality. 7. Neurological ailments such as peripheral neuropathy or neuropathic pain. 8. Bleeding diathesis, bleeding coagulopathy, deranged investigations.

To assess the effectiveness of two different techniques of regional anaesthesia, Transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block and Ilioinguinal/Iliohypogastric (II/IH) nerve block in paediatric patients undergoing unilateral ilioinginal surgeries.Timepoint: Assess the quality and overall efficacy of the both the study nerve blocks over 24 hours based on total analgesia time and rescue analgesic requirements

To assess the first rescue analgesia requirement time and number of doses of analgesics required in first 24 hours and measure intra-op and post-op complications of these blocks.Timepoint: 1) To assess the first rescue analgesia requirement time and number of doses of analgesics required in first 24 hours. 2) To assess intra-operative or post-operative complications related to these blocks.
