Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients suspected to have Ventilator Associated Pneumonia Patients suspected to have Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections Patients suspected to have Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection Patients having infected pressure sores. Age more than 18 yrs.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Next of kin who deny informed consent Pregnant and lactating women

To study the antimicrobial resistance pattern of Healthcare Associated Infections and its concordance with surveillance surface cultures in Medicine ICU.Timepoint: Urine culture 3 days Blood culture 5 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To study antibiotic resistance pattern of blood cultures at 5th day tracheal aspirates at 3rd day urine cultures at 3rd day and swab cultures at 3rd day from pressure sores of patients admitted in ICU who are suspected to develop HAIs. 2. To study the antibiotic resistance pattern of environmental surveillance surface cultures on biweekly basis from high-risk corners of medicine ICU. 3. To study the antimicrobial resistance concordance of bacterial isolates of samples from patients with suspected HAIs & surveillance surface cultures.Timepoint: Blood culture 5th day Tracheal aspirate 3rd day Urine culture 3rd day Surveillance swabs biweekly
