Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients of ASA grade I , II and III Adult patients of either sex scheduled for any elective surgery or admitted in ICU requiring IJV cannulation
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients not providing consent Any surgical intervention at cannulation site Present or past history of neck mass Diagnosis of SVC syndrome limited neck mobility Severe coagulopathy and internal jugular vein thrombosis Patients with infection , burn , trauma or subcutaneous hematoma closure to puncture site History of internal jugular vein cannulation on same side

| 1. Mean length of IJV catheter using modified Peres height formula 2. Mean length of IJV catheter using landmark method ( PS-RTICS) 3. Mean distance of catheter tip from carina by post procedural chest X-ray in both the groups . Timepoint: 15min. Timing and parameters assess only one time after successful intervention. | — |
