Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries (e.g., CABG, valve replacement) with high risk for post operative infection e.g., diabetes, obesity, immunosuppression

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who develop allergy to antibiotics after initiation of therapy

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. To determine the effectiveness of feedback and educational interventions by comparing the antibiotic utilization indicators before and after the feedback and educational interventions 2.To determine the cost effectiveness of Cefoperazone-Sulbactam, Piperacillin-Tazobactam and Meropenem in high-risk patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries. Timepoint: for first outcome 6 months and 13 months after initiation of the study For second outcome 30, 60 and 90 days after discharge

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To describe the KAP of patients regarding antibiotic use To describe the KAP of health care workers regarding antibiotic useTimepoint: 6 months after initiation
