|---|---|
| The expression profiles of IL-36 cytokines in Primary vs Secondary / Severe vs Non- severe / Pediatric vs Adult / Acute vs Convalescent patient samples will be evaluated by ELISA or Real-time PCR analysis. The results obtained will be correlated with the clinical pathology and viral load to evaluate whether IL-36 cytokines as a predictive clinical marker for DENV infections.Timepoint: The study uses retrospective samples collected when patients report dengue infection at different times. We aim to categorize the disease condition from these samples and compare the severity of dengue infection. Hence, the time points for the outcome measure for the dengue-infected group is the date of their blood collection. However, the outcome time point for the samples collected from the healthy volunteers will be the baseline (single time point). | — |

|---|---|
| This research contributes valuable insights into the development of a novel therapeutic strategy for treating patients with severe DENV infection. The combination of RNAi-based therapies & innovative delivery systems may pave the way for the next generation of antiviral treatments, providing an essential tool in the fight against dengue & other mosquito-borne diseases.Timepoint: The secondary outcome of the study is to investigate whether IL-36 cytokines are a druggable target in pre-clinical studies (in vitro & in vivo models). Hence, the time points for the secondary outcome is not applicable. | — |
