Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Patients diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes mellitus with Fasting plasma glucose level between 80-130 mg/dL, Post Prandial plasma glucose level less than 180 mg/dL, HbA1c level between 6.5 -7.5 and having chronic periodontitis. 3. Probing pocket depth of 4 mm - 7mm in at least 2 teeth/site.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who have undergone any periodontal therapy in the past 6 months. 2. Patients with symptoms of acute illness. 3. Patients who are on immunosuppressive therapy or having any other systemic illness 4. Systemic anti-inflammatory treatment within the previous 3 months or regular use of specific drugs known to affect periodontal tissues. 5. Pregnant women and lactating mothers. 6. Smokers. 7. Patients with history of allergy.
