Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Willing to give informed consent to the study - Local to Kanpur and can visit the department of cognitive science, IIT Kanpur at least 5 days a week for rTMS - Drug naive patients - Clinically diagnosed with Depression according to ICD 10 DCR

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Individuals not giving informed consent - Presence of metals in the body - Severe depression with psychotic symptoms - Active suicide ideation - Unable to visit the rTMS lab, IIT Kanpur - Dipolar depression, substance use disorder (excluding nicotine), pregnancy or post-partum period - Untreated co-morbidities that require immediate surgical or medical assistance - History of seizure disorder - Intellectual disability - shall be ruled out clinically
