Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: pregnant women at less than 14 weeks period of gestation. women with singleton pregnancy. whose single step OGTT (DIPSI) blood sugar level was less than 140 mg/dl who gave the consent for the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: women with renal and liver disease. women with chronic hypertension, pre-gestational diabetes, GOUT, connecting tissue disorders and alcohol intake, drug known to increase uric acid levels in blood are exclude from study.

To determine serum uric acid level in first trimester in study population. to assess the gestational diabetes mellitus in pregnant female. to analyse serum uric acid level and relationship with development of GDM in pregnant women.Timepoint: To determine serum uric acid level in first trimester in study population. to assess the gestational diabetes mellitus in pregnant female. to analyse serum uric acid level and relationship with development of GDM in pregnant women at less than 14 weeks and followed at 24-28 weeks of gestation
