Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adult patients scheduled to undergo surgery under general anaesthesia. 2. American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Refusal to consent 2. Anticipated diffculty in mask ventilation . 3. Full stomach 4. Known gastro-oesophageal disorder 5. Nasogastric tube 6. Pregnancy 7. Body mass index (BMI) more than 30 kg per square meter.

Compare the expired tidal volumes between modified thenar eminence technique and standard thenar eminence technique of two-handed mask ventilation during induction of general anaesthesia.Timepoint: At the end of tidal volume breath.
