Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Singleton , term pregnancies at the time of delivery 2. Documented BMI: Pre-pregnancy BMI or BMI measured during the first antenatal visit (before 12 weeks gestation) available 3. Planned Hospital Delivery: Patients planning to deliver in a hospital setting where labor interventions and delivery outcomes can be accurately tracked and recorded. 4. Complete Medical Records: Availability of complete and reliable maternal, labor, and delivery data (e.g., labor onset, interventions, mode of delivery, neonatal outcomes).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Twin or higher-order multiple gestations 2. Women with significant pre-existing medical conditions that could independently influence labor and delivery outcomes, such as: Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes mellitus (excluding gestational diabetes), Cardiac disease , Renal disease 3. Major Obstetric Complications: Conditions that significantly alter the course of pregnancy or labor, including: Placenta previa ; Placental abruption ; Eclampsia; Fetal anomalies 4. Women with a planned elective cesarean section without a trial of labor. 5. Inadequate Medical Records on BMI, labor interventions, or mode of delivery. 6. Preterm or Post-term Deliveries: Deliveries before 37 weeks or after 42 weeks

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. To evaluate the association between maternal BMI categories and the mode of delivery 2. To assess the frequency and types of labor interventions (e.g., induction, augmentation, pain management) across different BMI categories. Timepoint: over 1 year

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To determine the effect of BMI on the duration of labor stages (1st, 2nd, & 3rd stages). 2. To evaluate neonatal outcomes, such as birth weight, Apgar scores, NICU admission rates, & complications, across BMI groups. Timepoint: over 1 year
