Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. In pre-dialysis or dialysis status needing an End to Side or Side to Side arteriovenous fistula for hemodialysis 2. Patients with no history of venepuncture during the last two weeks in that particular limb in which fistula is to be made 3. Controlled systolic blood pressure more than 100 mmHg 4. Clinically appreciable cephalic vein in distal forearm and good volume radial pulse.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Previous arteriovenous fistula in the same site or more proximal AVF 2. Documented deep venous thrombosis or arteriopathy 3. Noncompliance for follow up visits, 4. Failure to create the AVF during surgery
