Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Advocates registered with the State Bar Councils who have completed at least two years of experience in law practice have qualified All India Bar Exam conducted by the Bar Council of India Who has argued at least one case for grant of guardianship before the competent court/Local Level Committee. Mental Health Professionals working in psychiatric rehabilitation Caregivers of the person with severe mental disorders with the felt need or who have applied for guardianship. User survivors those are willing to share their experiences. Person with Mental Illness has benchmark disabilities that will cooperate for valid interviews. Indian Disability Evaluation and Assessment Scale score of 7 or more, Non-Governmental Organization professionals are running the activities and interventions or have experience of at least two years working for the cause.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Mental Retardation as covered under the National Trust Act of 1999. • Subjects with whom a meaningful conversation cannot be carried out due to their symptoms status.

MeasureTime frame
A schedule for the assessment of guardianship for Persons with Benchmark Disability with Mental Illness will be developed and standardized.Timepoint: IDEAS SCORE 8 OR MORE FOR PMI.AT BASELINES,AFTER THE INSTRUMENT APPLICATION AND 3 MONTH POST APPLICATION.

The assessment will produce a report detailing the types of decision-making support required by persons with Benchmark Disability with Mental Illness, the frequency of guardian support needed, & the potential duration of such support.Timepoint: at baseline,4 weeks & 8 weeks;Assessment report will be helpful to mental health in understanding the need for a legal guardian to a Person with Benchmark Disability with Mental Illness, type of need & duration of such need.Timepoint: at baseline, 4 weeks & 8 weeks;This helps the Mental Health Professionals to know when to refer the PMI for applying for a legal guardian from a competent authority.Timepoint: at baseline, 4 weeks & 8 weeks;This tool may assist in establishing uniformity in assessment approaches to determine the need for a legal guardian.Timepoint: at baseline, 4 weeks & 8 weeks
