Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: i. Patients between 18 to 30 years of age. ii. Patients requiring bilateral upper premolar extraction treated with pre-adjusted edgewise bracket system using 0.022 MBT bracket system only. iii. After alignment and levelling phase in the upper arch and placemnt of 0.019x0.025 SS archwire for 1 month. iv. After leveling the curve of spee in the upper arch. v. Minimum of 5 mm extraction space between canine and second premolar bilaterally. vi. Individual canine retraction using mini-screw with a closed coil spring. vii. Good oral hygiene and periodontal condition. viii. All the patients showing normodivergent growth pattern.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i. Medically compromised patients. ii. Chronic use of medications i.e. anti-inflammatory drugs. iii. Poor oral hygiene as determined by OHI. iv. Evidence of bone loss. v. History of orthodontic treatment.
