Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant women with singleton pregnancies. 2.Gestational age between a specific range to ensure late-onset FGR status. 3.Confirmation of late-onset small growth-restricted (FGR) fetuses based on prenatal ultrasound assessment, which may include criteria such as estimated fetal weight below the 10th percentile for gestational age, abnormal Doppler flow velocimetry, or evidence of uteroplacental insufficiency. 4.Availability and willingness to undergo neurosonographic examinations 5.Absence of major fetal anomalies or chromosomal abnormalities detected on prenatal ultrasound screening. 6.Ability to provide informed consent for participation in the study. 7.Patients with normally grown fetuses matched for gestational age to serve as controls, with similar exclusion criteria applied

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant women with multiple gestations (e.g., twins, triplets). 2.Gestational age outside the specified range for late-onset FGR status. 3.Late-onset FGR fetuses with known congenital anomalies or chromosomal abnormalities detected on prenatal ultrasound screening. 4.Inability or unwillingness to undergo either neurosonographic scans. 5.Previous history of intrauterine fetal demise or stillbirth. 6.Maternal medical conditions or complications that may affect fetal growth or neurodevelopment (e.g., diabetes mellitus, hypertension, substance abuse). 7.Fetal conditions requiring urgent or emergent delivery, such as severe fetal distress or placental abruption. 8.Inadequate maternal understanding of the study procedures or inability to provide informed consent. 9. Patients with normally grown fetuses matched for gestational age who meet any of the above exclusion criteria.
