Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Pregnant women with greater than or equal to 36 weeks of gestation. Singleton pregnancy. Undergoing elective LSCS under subarachnoid blockade.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Obstetric Conditions: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) and eclampsia, Multiple gestation Precaeserean ultrasound scan showing any fetal concern or complication that may affect the study outcomes (e.g., umbilical cord prolapse, cord loops around the neck, IUGR, Severe oligohydramnios Medical Conditions: Pre-existing diabetes, Renal disease, Liver disease Medications: Use of medications that impact glucose metabolism (e.g., Insulin, Steroids) or affecting the hydration status or blood glucose levels (e.g., diuretics) Allergies: Known allergies or adverse reactions to carbohydrate-based supplements
