Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA grade I or II non diabetic patients 2. All adults above 18 to 70 years 3. Patients able to read at least one language Marathi, Hindi or English 4. Patients posted for elective surgeries 5. Availability of informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age less than 18 years 2. Patients with Known diabetes or chronic steroid use or conditions affecting glucose metabolism. 3. Patients with neurological deficits or psychiatric illness not able to comprehend. 4. Obstetric and terminally ill patients 5. Patients who refused consent. 6. Patients with ASA physical status III or more

Blood glucose value two hours after dexamethasone administration. 3. FBS and post prandial blood sugar on post operative days 1, 2 and 3.
