Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who will give informed consent for study. 2. The study will include patients aged 18 years and older. 3. The study will include patients with diagnosis of acute atherosclerotic ischemic stroke with duration less than 1 month. 4. Patients with any level of stenosis in major arteries, including common carotid artery the internal carotid, M1 segment of the middle cerebral artery, A1 segment of the anterior cerebral artery, P1 segment of the posterior cerebral artery, intracranial vertebral artery, or basilar artery, as identified through TOF MRA, CTA, or DSA, will be included. 4. Patient with any one of these risk factors for atherosclerosis like age is more than 50 yrs, HTN, DM, dyslipidemia, smoking or family history of ischemic stroke.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. The study will exclude patients aged less than 18 years. 2. The study will exclude patients having any contraindications for MRI. 3. Patients with other significant comorbidities like CKD, CLD or CCF affecting clinical outcomes. 4. Patient with lacunar stroke less than 1.5cm lesion. 5. Patient with cardioembolic stroke like recent MI, EF less than 30%, RWMI on 2D echo, intraventricular or intra atrial clots or thrombus, any structural heart problems, any arrhythmias, PFO with significant ROPE score. 6. Neuroimaging features suggestive of vasculitis, FMD or dissection. 7. Patient with known case of malignancy. 8. Patient with active infection or infective endocarditis. 9. known case of systemic autoimmune or connective tissue disease.
