Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged between 18 and 60 years presenting with acanthosis nigricans of the neck and face

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.patients with any skin infection in the neck and face at the time of the session. 2.patients with previous herpes simplex infection on the study site. 3.patients with endocrine disorders, 4. patients with malignant AN. 5. patients who previously applied the following topical medications- retinoids, hydroquinone, or corticosteroid and depigmenting agents in the last 1 month. 6. patients who took the following medications- contraceptive pill, nicotinic acid, corticosteroids, estrogen, niacin, protease inhibitors, within 1 month prior to study or systemic retinoids within 6 months prior to study. 7. patients who are allergic to tretinoin and topical anesthetic creams, 8. patients with keloidal tendency 9.pregnancy and lactation.
