Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Presence of both, IBS and FD with symptoms (As per Rome IV criteria) 2. Age group- 18 to 50 years 3. Willing to participate and give written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of any other gastrointestinal co-morbidity diagnosed through any prior endoscopy, celiac disease, long term consumption of NSAIDS/ salicylates, intestinal parasitic/ other infections, history of food allergies, any significant addictions, or significant co-morbidities. 2. Pregnant or lactating females 3. Patients with BMI less than 18.5 kg/m 2 4. Patients with alarming symptoms like unintentional weight loss (>5% during last month), dysphagia, anemia, persistent/ recurring vomiting, hematemesis, melena and severe abdominal pain. 5. History of lactose/fructose intolerance. Patients following a prior restricted diet (e.g. LFD, gluten-free diet, lactose-free diet)

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that people suffering from IBS-FD overlap will benefit from the Low FODMAP diet in terms of reduction in symptom severity.Timepoint: Baseline Phase 1 at 6 weeks Phase 2 at 12 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
There should be an increased improvement in quality of life in IBS- FD patients following a Low FODMAP diet when compared to IBS-FD patients following a traditional dietary advice.Timepoint: Baseline Phase 1 at 6 weeks Phase 2 at 12 weeks
