Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ASA- I, II, III and E- I, II Age- 18 to 60 years Patients undergoing Elective and Emergency Laparoscopic surgeries were recruited
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients refusal 2.ASA-IV, V, VI 3.Cardiac disease, respiratory disease, renal compromise 4.Day care surgery patients 5.psychiatric disease 6.Patients who have problems in the process of weaning from respiratory support after surgery, 7.Patients who have postsurgical changes in consciousness/ acute confusion, fluid electrolyte imbalance, difficulty in swallowing or restriction of oral fluid intake 8.Patients who need postoperative intensive care.

| To evaluate the impact of postoperative fasting duration on the patient comfort score. To asses thirst related symptoms of dry mouth, dry throat, tenderness in the throat, difficulty in swallowing, bad taste in the mouth, bad breath till the time of discharge.Timepoint: Patient will be reviewed in the immediate post operative period, soon after patient is shifted to recovery. Then again at 8 hours ,16 hours & 24 hours Post-op. | — |
