Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients belonging to the age group of 12-19 years. Cases fulfilling the criteria for MDD in ICD-10 Cases fulfilling scores of mild (5-9), moderate (10-14), and moderately severe (15-19), in the PHQ-9 • Subjects belonging to both sexes. • Written informed consent. (If the participant’s age is above 18 years Written informed consent will be obtained from the participant only and if the participant is below the age of 18 years Written informed consent will be obtained from both participant and parents.)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Severe depression (greater than 20), in the PHQ-9 Patients taking anti-psychiatric drugs Any other pre-existing mental disorder. Presence of risk of suicide or self-destructive behaviours. Known cases of Tuberculosis, HIV, Cancer, etc.

OUTCOME MEASUREMENT -1 Title: Reduction in score PHQ-9 Description: Final value -5th month value- 4th month value-3rd month value -10th week value- 8th week value-6th week value-4th week value-2nd week value-baseline in PHQ-9. Interval: 2-week intervals for the first 3 months, then monthly once for the next 3 months. (Total 10 values) Timepoint: Interval: 2-week intervals for the first 3 months, then monthly once for the next 3 months. (Total 10 values)
