Intervention1: ORAL ZINC GROUP: In addition to phototherapy, the Zinc group will receive 5 mg elemental zinc i.e., 0.25 mL (Drop containing 20 mg/mL zinc sulfate) . Control Intervention1: PLACEBO GROU

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Term (gestational age 37weeks and More) intramural Neonates admitted in NURSERY, UMAID HOSPITAL with Jaundice in Phototherapy Range.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Neonates with direct hyperbilirubinemia 2 Sepsis 3 Laboratory evidence of haemolysis at enrolmemt 4 Neonates with hyperbilirubinemia in exchange transfusion range 5 On IVF 6 Major congenital anomalies 7 Respiratory disease requiring oxygen supplementation or respiratory support (CPAP, Vent)

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Serum bilirubin levels in term neonates with hyperbilirubinemia undergoing phototherapy after treatment with oral zinc.Timepoint: 24 , 48 , and 72hr of zinc supplementation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Duration of phototherapy, & hospital stayTimepoint: The time period refers to the total duration of hospital stay & total duration of phototherapy given to hyperbilirubinemia patients who are receiving oral zinc.
