Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: BMI 18.5 to 24.9 ASA 1 and 2 Lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries Angle between skin and spinal needle 90 degree Spinal anesthesia in sitting position

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ASA 3 and 4 Spine deformities Paramedian approach Orthopaedic patients to whom height and weight cannot be measured Spinal anesthesia in lateral position

MeasureTime frame
To estimate skin-to-subarachnoid space depth using Abe s, Bonadio s, Craig s, Stocker s, and Chong s modified formulae and the sensitivity of these formula.Timepoint: 8 hours prior to spinal anesthesia

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To detect which formula correlates best with the measured skin-to-subarachnoid depth using a spinal needle in postspinal anesthesia.Timepoint: 10 mins after spinal anesthesia
