Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted in ICU above 18 years of age and fulfilling criteria for sepsis and septic shock

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Non-infectious inflammatory disorders Pre-existing renal failure, Pre-existing liver failure On steroids, antimetabolites Acute coronary syndrome within 3 months Acute CVA within 3 months. Pregnancy and lactating mothers Transfer to another institution
