Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All the patients 18 years or above, belonging to ASA grade 1 or 2, scheduled for elective surgical procedures taking single or on combination of two or more antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) for more than 6 months or age matched patients not taking any AEDs

MeasureTime frame
Antiepileptic drugs are known to cause gastrointestinal side-effects, so gastric emptying time may be delayed by these drugs. Timepoint: The gastric volume of clear fluids is measured till it achieves the baseline.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare that gastric emptying time of clear fluids in the patients on single AEDs with two AEDs To compare that gastric emptying time of clear fluids in the patients on single AEDs with three AEDs To compare that gastric emptying time of clear fluids in the patients on two AEDs with three AEDs To compare qualitative assessment of residual gastric contents after last solid meal Timepoint: The gastric volume of clear fluids is measured till it achieves the baseline.
