Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To evaluate the patterns and frequency of lung isolation device usage viz. double-lumen tubes (DLTs), bronchial blockers and endobronchial tubes, in adult patients undergoing thoracic cancer surgery, and to identify significant trends in device usage over time. Primary Endpoint Percent of patients receiving DLT/BB/EB for lung isolation in one calendar year blocks from 2015-2024. Timepoint: At baseline | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To analyze the patterns of usage between right-sided & left-sided Double-Lumen Tubes (DLTs),and between DLTs & BBs across thoracic surgeries & patient characteristics, with a focus on key demographic & clinical variables. This objective aims to explore: 1. Percent of patients receiving Double Lumen Tube/Bronchial Blocker/EndoBronchial tube for lung isolation for different kinds of surgery e.g. open v/s minimally invasive surgery;surgeries for lung , esophagus , mediastinal mass etc. in one calendar year blocks from 2015-2024. 2. Gender & Stature Based Usage Patterns:Evaluate the type & size of LID & identifying any trends or preferences 3. Lung Collapse Quality: Compare the quality of lung collapse achieved using DLT & BB 4. Complications & Outcomes: Identify complications associated with LID such as malposition, trauma, displacement etc Timepoint: At baseline | — |
