Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Asymptomatic Permanent maxillary or mandibular molar with complete root formation. Permanent molar with occlusal carious lesion with dentinal involvement (extending into middle or inner third of dentin) as evidenced radiographically requiring caries excavation followed by restoration. Permanent molar with positive response to electric pulp tester and cold test. Permanent molars with similar extent of carious lesion as evidenced by diagnodent before initiation of caries excavation
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients who are medically compromised. Pregnant and lactating women. Teeth with pathological processes other than dental caries like developmental anomalies that could affect treatment, cracks or existing restoration. Carious teeth with clinical or radiographic signs and symptoms of pulpal involvement as history of spontaneous throbbing pain, sensitivity to percussion, gingival redness, swelling or fistula. Immature teeth or teeth with root resorption. Teeth with previous root canal treatment.
