Interventions

Intervention1: Repetetive transcranial magnetic stimulation: Stimulation parameters for patients who would be receiving active sessions are intensity of 110% of the MT. During each rTMS treatment ses
1 week, MT (and therefore the stimulus intensity) would be ascertained again. In the patient who is complaining of headache or scalp/facial pain, MT would be determined again. For patients receiving s

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18 years-60 years who are diagnosed as alcohol dependence syndrome as per ICD 11. Informed consent to participate in the study Willing to use pharmacotherapy along with sessions of rTMS

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of significant neurological illness like epilepsy or a family history of epilepsy, previous notable head injuries, brain surgery, and periods of unconsciousness lasting at least 15 minutes. Presence of diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, existing optic nerve pathologies. Presence of past complicated withdrawal. The existence of a pacemaker or any other electrical stimulation device, metallic clips. Presence of any of the risk factors for TMS procedure as assessed using screening standard questionnaire for rTMS candidate. Substance dependence other than alcohol and tobacco.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
After completing their treatment, patients who incorporate repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) into their standard treatment regimen experience a notable reduction in craving levels and cg This suggests that rTMS, when used in conjunction with traditional therapeutic approaches, can effectively diminish the intensity of cravings, potentially leading to improved treatment outcomes and enhanced overall well-being for individuals undergoing this interventionTimepoint: it is assesed immediately after ten sessions of intervention,at 2nd,4th,8th,12th weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in P100 latency ,f 75 amplitude in VEP post sessionsTimepoint: Baseline prior and after 10 sessions
