Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients between the ages of 18 years to 60 years diagnosed with positive SLR test and diagnosed cases of sciatica according to ICD-10 criteria M54.3

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with advanced conditions such as bladder involvement, degeneration of spine, spinal/ intra- spinal tumors, lumbar canal stenosis, deformity of the spinal column, etc. Any lesion of the sciatic nerve as per ICD-10 G57. Any lesion due to intervertebral disc disorder as per ICD-10 M51.1. Patients suffering from HIV, Hepatitis B/C, malignancy, etc. Pregnant women and lactating mothers. Patients taking other treatments for sciatica. Cases requiring surgical intervention and emergency treatment.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Based on the scores obtained (pre-treatment and post-treatment) from the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and SF-12 scales.Timepoint: Pre-treatment scores will be taken at the baseline of the treatment, and post-treatment scores will be assessed at the end of 12 weeks using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and SF-12 scales.

MeasureTime frame
The individualized homoeopathic medicine selected with aid of Homoeopathic Medical Repertory by Robin Murphy will be effective in managing the pain in cases of sciatica. It is expected that Homoeopathic medicine will reduce the intensity of pain thus improving the quality of life of the patient.Timepoint: 12 months
